organ practice

organ practice

I use most of my free time to practice the organ. Why? Because I want to! I enjoy playing the organ. I like making music. I like learning music. I enjoy the challenge of it all.

In preparation for my guild certification as an organist, I'm learning something particularly challenging: transposition. The basic idea is that you read the music in one key, but play it in another. It's a useful skill, but not easy to learn or master. I recorded a few practice sessions to share with you!

I realized a few things while recording this: 1) I need a haircut. 2) This is the first recording I've shared on my new organ! 3) My video editing skills are still pathetic.

Please enjoy! See if you can count how many different keys I used!
