recipes for poor college students

This will be a short post and my 10th post! By this time I'm getting settled at my new place in Minneapolis and getting ready to start my new PhD program!

I want to share some recipes that are delicious, easy, and cheap! These are the exact processes I follow.

apple (and cinnamon) oatmeal

This is probably the most filling recipe I know. If you eat this, you won't be hungry for the rest of the day!

ingredients

  • 1/2 cut oatmeal
  • 1 apple
  • cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 spoon

steps

  • chop apple, place in bowl
  • pour oatmeal on apple
  • cinnamon to taste
  • water to taste
  • cook to taste

what'cha got wrap

This is my specialty! I make at least one of these per day. The basic idea is to use whatever you have to fill a tortilla. In my experience, the more variety the better.

ingredients

  • tortilla
  • random mix of veggies, fruit, beans, cheese, dressing, meat, leftovers, or whatever else you can find – the more variety the better!

steps

  • put everything in a tortilla

nacho taco

This one won't keep you full or healthy, but it uses up the crumbs at the bottom of the chip bag!

ingredients

  • tortilla
  • cheese
  • chip crumbs
  • plate

steps

  • melt cheese on tortilla
  • chip to taste
  • fold and eat!
